2275 SPORTS MANAGEMENT PhD

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pamukkale University Sports Management Department was established in 2008 and has been actively recruiting students since 2009. Our department, which has given hundreds of graduates since its establishment, has strengthened and developed itself by starting graduate education in the 2016-2017 academic year. In our department, where the quality of students is increasing day by day, there are 9 faculty members, including 1 professor, 5 associate professors, and 3 doctoral faculty members. In 2021, the doctoral program was opened. It is planned to accept students for the first time in the 2021-2022 spring semester.

Objective
To contribute to the training of academicians in the field of sports management in Turkey, to train sports managers whose deficiency is felt in our country. The department aims to present theoretical and applied courses in a broad perspective in order to provide students with organizational skills. In terms of Turkish sports, it is seen that the biggest problems experienced in sports, which have a place in the constitution in our country, are at the administrative level. In this context, in terms of the development and change of Turkish sports, it is necessary to train specialist sports scientists with a doctorate in sports management.


Admission Requirements
Students will be admitted to the Sports Management Doctorate Program in accordance with the PAU Graduate Education Regulations. In this program, which can be applied to those who have a master's degree in Sports Management, the following conditions are also sought for application: -To be able to apply to the doctoral program, the candidates; They must have a master's degree, an ALES score not less than 60 points, and a score of 55 or higher from YDS or a foreign language exam deemed equivalent by the Council of Higher Education. In calculations, the weighted average of 50% of the ALES exam grade is calculated. These rates can be changed by the PAU Institute Department. Candidates whose weighted average is below 65 points and who do not attend the entrance exam are not accepted to the program. The success score of the students who cannot get at least 50 points from the written and/or oral scientific evaluation exam is not calculated. -Exam minutes are sent to the institute with the cover letter of the EABD/EASD presidency. The results are announced as the main and reserve list with the decision of the Institute Administrative Board. The results are ranked from highest to lowest by the Graduate School Administrative Board and students are accepted to the Sports Management Doctorate Program in accordance with the quota.

Graduation Requirements
Students who achieve departmental credit condition and dissertation presentation will be graduated.

Career Opportunties
Graduates of the doctoral program, if they are successful in the entrance exams, can primarily work as an instructor in the Department of Physical Education and Schools/Faculties of Sports Sciences and Technology. In addition, they can work as managers and sports specialists in various institutions and organizations, sports clubs, sports federations, municipalities, sports and recreation units, and halls outside the club status.

Recognition of Prior Learning
A successful student who has completed at least one semester in another institution / department of the university or another post-graduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the post-graduate programs by horizontal transfer. The conditions for acceptance by horizontal transfer are determined by the Senate.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who achieve departmental credit condition and dissertation presentation will be graduated.

Access to Further Studies
A student graduated with a good PhD Degree may carry on an academic carrier as a lecturer or post doctorate researcher.
