2501 MODERN TURKISH DIALECTS AND LITERATURES

GENERAL INFORMATION
Turkish is used as a spoken and written language in a wide area today. While the Turkish language has changed and developed, it has also been divided into dialects with external factors such as changes in the historical flow of the language arising from its own nature, geography, and relations with different socio-cultural environments. Although there were not many dialect differences in the past, these differences became evident in the 20th century with the forcing of external factors. Today, the Turkish language has more than twenty-eight written and spoken languages. Some of them are in the position of state language, written language, literary language. By establishing this department, it is aimed to teach these Turkish languages, literatures, philosophy, sociology, history and cultures, to establish mutual agreement, study and support by establishing communication between these fields, to produce works and to train necessary scientists to work in these fields.

Objective
The aim of the Contemporary Turkish Language and Literatures department is to teach the language, literature, philosophy, sociology, history and culture of the Turks, which span a wide area, and to establish mutual agreement, study and cooperation between these fields, to produce works and to train scientists who will work in these fields. In addition, it aims to train scientists who have a social science formation, who can think analytically, who can produce scientific knowledge and philosophical ideas with their scientific curiosity, who can do interdisciplinary work, who can produce solutions to problems with their expertise in the fields of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.-Learning, evaluating and researching the current publications on contemporary Turkish dialects and literatures and comprehending to have the discipline of research.
2.To be able to use computer technologies in language and dialect learning at the level required by the field.
3.To comprehend the history of language related to the periods of language development from the beginning of the Turkish language to the present day, to comprehend and learn to make analyzes in terms of sound, form, sentence and meaning with today's Turkish and Turkish dialects by using linguistics methods.
4.Hundreds of years of life and idea flow of Turkish world literature; all genres (poetry, novel, story, theater, etc.), literary periods and historical, political, social, cultural factors determining them, movements, communities, movements and gatherings around literary events; the general characters of the periods and the works of important literary figures with their causes and consequences.
5.Gaining knowledge of research techniques and bibliography, comprehension of new research.
6.To learn and comprehend the texts of the Turkish world literatures of the past and present, to provide new insights in the light of modern literary methods by examining them with a comparative method.
7.Understanding the application of the methods and techniques required by folklore, which has applications in the Turkish world as well as in our country.
8.Understanding of practical and analytical interpretation of any linguistic phenomenon.
9.Acquires a wide range of source information about the field and comprehends the scientific discipline that he / she can contribute to this source.
10.Being in constant communication with the Turkish world, analyzing, comparing and interpreting Contemporary Turkish Dialects, learning to interpret, comprehending the necessary methods.
11.To have knowledge of the history of language to understand and compare the Turkish language with its periods and dialects from the beginning that can be followed with texts, to understand and compare the Turkish language in terms of sound, form, sentence and meaning between today's Turkish dialects and dialects by using linguistics methods.
