273 PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS TEACHING

GENERAL INFORMATION
Our faculty was first established in 1996 in the Bozkurt district of Denizli as the Physical Education and Sports Teaching Department affiliated to the Faculty of Education. Later, our school moved to Denizli Merkez Incilipınar Campus Faculty of Education in 2002. Then, the establishment of the School of Sports Sciences and Technology under the Rectorate of Pamukkale University; Upon the letter of the Ministry of National Education dated 18/04/2002 and numbered 10656, it was decided by the Council of Ministers on 25/04/2002 in accordance with the amended additional article 30 of the 28/03/1983 dated and 2809 numbered Law. In 2014, the decision to establish a Faculty of Sports Sciences affiliated to Pamukkale University Rectorate; According to the additional article 30 of the Law No. 2809 dated 28/3/1983 of the Ministry of National Education, it was taken by the Council of Ministers on 14/8/2014 and published in the list (1) of the Official Gazette dated 26 August 2014 and numbered 29100. With 30 new students enrolled in the 2021-2022 academic year and 133 (2nd, 3rd, 4th grade) students currently registered, our University's Faculty of Sports Sciences Physical Education and Sports Teaching Program continues its activities actively. As of the 2021-2022 academic year, our program is actively working with 163 students, 3 Professors, 1 Associate Professor and 2 Dr. Lecturers, 9 Lecturers, 1 Teacher, and 2 Research Assistants contributing to education.

Objective
Bu programın amacı, Atatürk ilke ve inkılaplarına bağlı, insan haklarına saygılı, bilim ve teknolojiden özgün ve estetik değerlerle yararlanan, çağdaş bir beden eğitimi ve spor eğitimi vermek, spor kültürünü yerleştirmek ve topluma kazandırmaktır. evrensel değerler ışığında toplum yararına bu nitelikte yetişmiş bireyler yetiştirmektir. Programın bir diğer amacı ise yaptığı çalışmalar ve mezun edeceği/mezun edeceği öğrencilerle ulusal ve uluslararası bilimsel araştırmaların kalitesini artırmak, bedenen eğitimli bireyler ve dolayısıyla toplum yaratmada öncülük eden bir kurum olmaktır.


Admission Requirements
APPLICATION CONDITIONS FOR CANDIDATES (EXCEPT DISABLED CANDIDATES) (2021 – 2022) 1. To be a citizen of T.C. 2. To have taken the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) in 2020 or 2021 (Candidates can obtain their 2020-TYT scores from the candidates whose 2020-TYT score is 200 and above, determined in the ÖSYM 2021 application guide, without attending any session of the 2021-YKS. Those who want to use the score of 2021-YKS are required to apply. Those who have never applied to 2021-YKS from these candidates will definitely not be able to use the 2020-TYT score for 2021.) 3. For all candidates (including national athletes) who will apply to the Department of Physical Education and Sports, to be in the first 800,000 of the Y-TYT (the success order of the placement score without additional points is taken into account). 4. Not to have any health problems or disabilities that would prevent him from studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR DISABLED CANDIDATES (2021 – 2022) 1. To be a citizen T.C. 2. To have entered YKS in 2020 or 2021. 3. To have at least 800,000th place in Y-TYT for all disabled candidates who will apply to the Department of Physical Education and Sports. 4. For disabled candidates (physically disabled, visually impaired, hearing impaired, MR (mental retardation) and "pervasive developmental disorders" (autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger's syndrome, RETT syndrome, disintegrative disorders, pervasive developmental disorders in the unclassifiable group) )) to document the “Disabled Health Board Report” they received from a university or state hospital. 5. The applicants should not have any health problems that prevent them from doing high-intensity physical activity, since some of the courses offered during the education at the Faculty of Sports Sciences include high-intensity physical activities.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, including compulsory practical and summer training, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
Graduates of the Department of Physical Education and Sport can work; • as physical education teacher in primary and secondary schools which are connected to the Ministry of Education, • as trainer or sports expertise in the Department of Education or other departments of The General Directorate of Youth and Sports, taking coaching certificate from related federations in Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports under the General Directorate of Youth and Sports, • and as a research assistant or instructor in the Departments of Physical Education and Sport in the School of Physical Education and Sport, and the School of Sport Sciences and Technology at universities.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied. The common compulsory foreign language courses exemption exam is held at the beginning of the fall semester on the date specified in the academic calendar. No make-up exam is allowed for this exam. Students of faculties/vocational schools/schools who do not have a preparatory program take the joint compulsory foreign language exemption exam. Students who will take the exemption exam apply to the relevant unit within the period specified in the academic calendar. Also; Students who enroll in departments with foreign language preparatory programs for the first time take a placement and proficiency exam before the academic year starts. Students are placed in one of the beginner, intermediate-lower level or intermediate level groups according to the scores they get in this exam, or those who have proficiency points are exempted from preparatory education. The score ranges of these groups are determined by the School Directorate. Exam results are announced in relevant places and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Among the students who are enrolled in the departments/programs accepted to the compulsory preparatory education, those who do not take the level determination and proficiency exam start their education at the beginning level.

Access to Further Studies
