GENERAL INFORMATION
In the economics department, interdisciplinary education is applied, including Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, International economics, Econometrics and growth theories, money markets. The education provided enables the students to catch up with a wide spectrum in the business world.

Objective
The department of economics aims at giving students the qualitative and quantitative methods to understanding and analysing of economic and financial systems. To achieve this aim, department offers various courses and research projects. The contents of the all the courses are reviewed each year according to the needs of the students. Some courses like time series analysis, econometrics is given with practical application to Turkish Economy. All of the applications have been carried out with computers. So the ability of students to solve practical economics problems is given. The department also aims to prepare students for entry into various careers in the private sector and public organisations and institutions such as Central Bank of Turkey, State Planning Organisation, State Statistics Institute, Ministry of finance, Istanbul Stock Exchange, Capital Market Board.

Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
Students who graduate department of economics can increase their possibility of finding job like national and international company’s departments of economy, export and import, banking, national and international money and financial markets. At the same time they can be employed public institutions like Central Bank of Turkey, State Planning Organization, Turkish Statistical Institute, Ministry of finance, Istanbul Stock Exchange, Capital Market Board.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between AUndergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied.
