457 KNIFE AND HAND TOOLS PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

GENERAL INFORMATION
Our department is a department where qualified and equipped technicians who will work for the production of Knife and Hand Tools are trained. Along with being an associate degree department, it is among the professions that have the potential to work in many different fields, especially in terms of business. The Knife Making and Hand Tools Production Technologies Program aims to understand the production, structure, composition and properties of materials, to develop innovative design products based on these features, to reveal efficient and sustainable production planning, and to adopt a branding culture with unique designs. Our department has an important potential in terms of producing a higher quality and safer production of Knife and Hand Tools. Students who want to study the Knife Making and Hand Tools Technology program within the scope of a 3 + 1 semester education program, can study Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Production, Materials Technology, Basic Molding Technology, Manufacturing Processes, Technical Drawing, Machine Elements, Entrepreneurship and Internet and Marketing etc. With the course content suitable for the needs of the sector, such as the needs of the sector, it trains students who can be sought after rather than intermediate staff. Students who are responsible for these courses for 2 years are entitled to receive an associate degree in Knife Making and Hand Tools Production Technology upon graduation. The workshop conditions provided to the students within the scope of our program help them to transform the theoretical knowledge they have learned in the lessons into practice. In addition, thanks to the technical visits made to the factories at regular intervals, they are faced with the application areas of the program themselves. The aim of the department is to be a pioneer in the fields of social and sustainable development with interdisciplinary project collaborations, to be a modern, innovative, reliable, respected and preferred department in the fields of education-training and scientific development at national and international level.

Objective
To train well-equipped technicians who have the basic knowledge and skills needed by the sector and who will contribute to the identification or solution of the problems that will be encountered in the sector.


Admission Requirements
It is possible for the candidates to have a High School and Equivalent School Diploma and to get enough points in the University Student Selection Exam or to pass from the same departments of Vocational High Schools without an exam.

Graduation Requirements
Being successful in a 120-credit course. In addition, workplace training is provided in one semester of 4 semesters. In the 3+1 system, our students will study at school for one semester and receive training at their workplace for one semester.

Career Opportunties
Students who graduate from Knife Making and Hand Tools Production Technology in both public and private sectors can get the right to work. In this direction, it is possible to work as a technical staff as a Knife Making and Hand Tools Production Technology Technician. They work on technical drawings, especially on machines designed by mechanical engineers. If requested, the graduates of Knife Making and Hand Tools Production Technology, who also work in maintenance and repair services, also take part in the correct placement of the parts through the machine drawing. In addition to these, with the craft they will acquire, they will be able to establish their own business with a low-budget investment and produce Knife and Hand Tools in the provinces they are in and have a job.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied. The common compulsory foreign language courses exemption exam is held at the beginning of the fall semester on the date specified in the academic calendar. No make-up exam is allowed for this exam. Students of faculties/vocational schools/schools who do not have a preparatory program take the joint compulsory foreign language exemption exam. Students who will take the exemption exam apply to the relevant unit within the period specified in the academic calendar. Also; Students who enroll in departments with foreign language preparatory programs for the first time take a placement and proficiency exam before the academic year starts. Students are placed in one of the beginner, intermediate-lower level or intermediate level groups according to the scores they get in this exam, or those who have proficiency points are exempted from preparatory education. The score ranges of these groups are determined by the School Directorate. Exam results are announced in relevant places and on the website of the School of Foreign Languages. Among the students who are enrolled in the departments/programs accepted to the compulsory preparatory education, those who do not take the level determination and proficiency exam start their education at the beginning level.

Access to Further Studies
Without examination the graduates of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty have the right to migrate 3.sınıfına. In addition, DGS, if they are successful in the graduate program of formal education there are opportunities to continue.
