Course Objective This course aims to gain nursing knowledge and skills related to fundamental concepts related to cancers requiring surgery, carcinogenesis, risk factors, epidemiology, diagnosis and staging, treatment methods, and adaptation to post-survival life.
Course Content The course includes carcinogenesis and its basic concepts in oncology, cancer screening, diagnosis, staging, non-surgical treatment methods and nursing care, common cancers of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, endocrine, genitourinary system, surgery and nursing care, post-survival, physical, psychosocial, sexual, financial problems and nursing approaches.

1Has in-depth theoretical knowledge of basic oncology
2Knows and applies nursing care before, during, and after oncological surgery.

4To be able to plan and conduct a research topic for a solution by analyzing the information obtained in the national and international literature review in solving the problems related to the care of oncological surgery patients.
