Course Objective Students will have skills to evaluate the theory of knowledge as a philosophical problem in the classical of the Islamic thought and the concepts, methodology, epistemology in the literature of Islamıc philosophy.
Course Content . The theory of knowledge as a discipline of philosophy . The concept of knowledge in Plato and Aristotle . Al-Farabi’s concept of knowledge . Avicenna’s concept of knowledge . al-Ghazali’s concept of knowledge . Averroes’s concept of knowledge . Reason-revelation, philosophy-religion
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To compare the Islamic concepts of knowledge. To examine traces of the theory in the Greek philosophy.
2To analyze the elements of theory of knowledge as a discipline of philosophy. To compare the muslim philosophers’ theory of knowledge.
3To explain the relationship between theory of knowledge and other disciplines of philosophy. To interpret the relationship between religion and philosophy, and reason and revelation.
4To interpret the relationship between theory of knowledge and logic. To compare theory of knowledge to methods of science.
