Course Objective In this course, it is aimed to examine the basic concepts of the philosophy of enlightenment, the philosophers of the enlightenment and their thought systems.
Course Content In this course, the concept of enlightenment, the emergence of the Enlightenment Philosophy, its development, way of thinking, English Enlightenment, Scottish Enlightenment, French Enlightenment and German Enlightenment will be examined. The representative of the English Enlightenment John Locke, the representatives of the Scottish Enlightenment David Hume and A. Smith, the representatives of the French Enlightenment such as Voltaire and J.J. Rousseau and the representatives of the German enlightenment such as Kant, will be discussed.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learns the concept of enlightenment and the nature, emergence, development and way of thinking of the philosophy of enlightenment.
2Gains knowledge about the leading representatives of the Enlightenment philosophy and which views these philosophers adopted.
3Comprehend the reflections and ways of thinking of the Enlightenment philosophy in different geographies.
4Analyze the similarities and differences between the views of the Enlightenment philosophers.
