Course Objective What kind of changes occur in the process of religious development from childhood to old age. What kind of differences does religious development show according to different religions and cultures? It is among the objectives of the course to reveal the various theories of religious development brought about by some theoretical approaches to explain the phenomenon of religious development.
Course Content 1. Introduction to Theories of Religious Development 2. Genetic theory 3. Piaget and the theory of Cognitive Development 4. Baldwin and Harms Theory 5. Elkind Theory 6. Goldman and the Theory of Religious Thought Development 7. Theories of Moral Development 8. Freud and Psychoanalysis 9. Erikson and Psycho -The Theory of Social Development 10. Jung's Theory of Individuation 11. The Theory of Attachment 12. Theories of Lifetime Religious Development 13. Holistic Approaches 14. The Islamic Perspective and Theories of Development
