Course Objective In this course, answers will be given to the questions of what is media and social media literacy, and what is the status of social media education in the world and in Turkey.In addition, the use of social media in the world and in Turkey and the amount of interaction will be discussed, and their effects on the individual and society will be evaluated.Individuals taking this course examine the effects of media and social media on social, cultural and economic life. It determines the problem areas of social media publications and shares, and makes suggestions for protection from the negative effects of these. It examines and evaluates sharing and broadcasting types in terms of content, reality-fiction, authenticity, targeting consumption, misinformation, and finds pros and cons by considering individual and social psychology. It can be predicted that our course will be beneficial for individuals who will receive spiritual counseling and guidance training, in terms of being aware of the impact of the media and social media on the individual.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learns the short history of Social Media.
2It determines the problem areas of social media publications and shares, and makes suggestions for protection from the negative effects of these.
3Examines and evaluates sharing and broadcast types in terms of content, reality-fiction, authenticity, targeting consumption, and misinformation.
4The student taking the course finds the pros and cons of social media by considering individual and social psychology.
