Course Objective The aim of the course is to provide technical information about Real-Time PCR technology; To share up-to-date information on applications in the fields of Biology, Environment, Food, and Health Sciences. At the end of the term, students who take the course are expected to have all the necessary equipment to practice with Real-Time PCR practically in any field.
Course Content Real-Time PCR history and fluorogenic chemistry (SYBR Green and Probe systems), Standards, controls and standard curve preparation, Determination of target molecule amount, Multiplex PCR. Role of Real Time PCR in routine diagnosis. Measurement of gene expression. Problems and solutions to be encountered while using Real Time PCR.
