Course Objective
In this course, the concepts of media and communication will be evaluated in the context of the historical process. The focus of the course is for students to understand and evaluate the views of the main theories and theorists that stand out in the literature of media and communication sociology, and to be able to interpret current media contents.

Changes in Science and Social Structure; Sociology and Communication; Milestones of History in Human Communication; History of Media Tools: Newspaper; History of Media Tools: Radio; History of Media Tools: Television; Cinema and Sociology; New Media Sociology; Cultural Industry and Media; Cultural Studies and Interdisciplinary Approaches; Theories and Theorists in Sociology of Communication; Communication in the 21st Century and the Future of the Media
