Course Objective Today, the media has entered all areas of social life and has become an important source of education. Students of different age groups constitute the largest consumer group of media tools. In the media literacy course, students are provided with information about media contents and messages, and they gain the ability to criticize and analyze this issue. Within the scope of this course, a conceptual discussion about media contents is carried out, and how to read and analyze television and internet contents, which are an important part of media literacy, is emphasized. Again in this course, students are provided with conceptual knowledge about the power, effects, structure and functioning of the media, and the effects of the media on students' educational success and school relations, as an external dynamic that affects the educational processes at school, are examined.

1Students' television, radio, print media, internet, etc. to reach the messages in the media, to obtain the ability to analyze, evaluate and transmit them, and also to gain a critical perspective towards written, visual and audio media
2Concept of media and media literacy, information society and media literacy; media tools (television, newspaper, magazine, internet, social media etc.); critical reading, critical listening and watching; evaluation and analysis of messages; TV ads, newspaper news, TV shows, web content, etc. examination of media products.
