Course Objective
For a general definition of sociology, the general concepts of sociology, related branches are given, and its historical development and importance are passed. Explaining the place and importance of sports in social institutions; the relationship of the sports institution with the family, education, religion, politics and economy institutions is established. In the cultural dimension of sports; It includes the function of sports in socialization, subcultures of sports, class dimensions and class relations in participation in sports, professionalization and commercialization in sports, race and ethnicity in sports. It includes the handling of sports in terms of sociological theories, violence in sports and its economic and social origins, sports in feminist theories, the relationship between globalization and sports.
Course Content
They will learn the interaction of sports with other institutions as a social institution and learn that sports is a social phenomenon. Examines the economic, cultural and social aspects of sports and discusses current problems. It aims to analyze sports, violence in sports, relations in sports institutions, social and global dimensions.
