Course Objective Define the anatomy (and neuroanatomy), physiology (and neurophysiology) of swallowing function, and the phases of swallowing, classification of swallowing disorders; to explain mechanical and neurogenic, structural originated swallowing disorders and their causes, evaluation stages and instrumental evaluations of swallowing disorders in children and adults
Course Content Swallowing Disorders and Epidemiology; normal swallowing and dysphagia / dysphagia, Anatomy and physiology of swallowing disorders, Neural control of swallowing, Stages of swallowing; Oral preparation stage, oral stage, pharyngeal stage and esophageal stage, Swallowing Disorders and their classification caused by neurological, structural, mechanical disorders and other diseases in adults, Etiology, diseases, classification of feeding and swallowing disorders in children, Evaluation and therapy of nutrition and swallowing disorders in children, Swallowing Clinical and instrumental evaluation of the screening scales of the disorders, Swallowing Disorders, covers nutrition and diet issues.
