COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Portfolio management includes not only the allocation of investments through separate asset classes but also do an effective risk management, portfolio diversification, planning for long-term through strategically asset allocation and short-term through some tactical asset allocation. The aim of this course is to provide an extensive knowledge about investment concepts to the student by explaining the investment basics and key factors for investment decisions, by analyzing the available products in Turkey and in the world, by analyzing the risk-return characteristics of traditional and alternative products. The course will provide information about portfolio theory. The theory is also supported through real examples from Turkey and the world. The student will do the valuation of equities and fixed income instruments. Finally the target of this course is to improve the vision of students about investments, products and strategies in a challenging and volatile market environment.
