COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Bachelor's Degree

Course Objective The purpose of this course is to provide students with knowledge about economics and the basic methods of cost engineering and financial decision making. Students will also learn to evaluate the financial situation of companies and the financial impact of engineering projects on the company.
Course Content Microeconomics, Markets, the concepts of Demand and Supply, Elasticity, Market Equilibrium, Cost Analysis. Principles of accounting and cost accounting systems, Cost and Expenditure, Types of Costs. General Production Costs Accounting, Unit Costs, Modern Concepts in Cost Accounting, financial tables, various product costing techniques. Cost estimation methods. Evaluation of alternative investment projects, cost-benefit analysis and examples financial decision making problems.
