Course Objective
The main objective of the course is to provide the mechanical engineering student with a realistic understanding of the basic adhesive bonding techniques and to develop skills to adhesively bonded joint design.
Course Content
Introduction to adhesion and adhesion theories, cohesion, adhesives and adhesive types, surface treatments, structural adhesives and application areas, retaining, sealing and repairing adhesives, strength of adhesively bonded joints, impact behaviour adhesive joints, failure types of adhesive joints.
