Course Objective Tools that systematize time: Giving general information about time measurement and calendar (kuntizbe). Introduction of time measurements and calendars used in Turks.
Course Content Studies for the regular and systematic use of time have revealed a time measurement system that we call a calendar today. While making these arrangements, the movements of the objects in the sky and the changes in them were observed carefully. In order to systematize time, the Turks also developed a time measurement using the names of animals in the 12 loop system, which is also used in other cultures. In this system, a cyclical system was created by naming an animal for each year – 12 after all. For this 12-year cyclical system, time-related names such as “müçe, müçö, şösel, müçöl” were made. “praising the year” in different Turkish tribes for the year count; Terms such as “jıl qayıruw”, “cil flock” were used.
