Course Objective This course is designed to introduce students to the risks of technology addiction. The course aims to inform students about the effects of addictive technology such as smartphones and the internet at the biological, personal and social levels. Finally, The course ensures students aware of preventive mechanisms and ways of coping with technology addiction.
Course Content Discussing The Concept of Addiction; Types of Addiction and Related Theories; The Addiction of Smartphone and Internet; Effects of Addiction on Personal and Social Life; The Technology Addiction and Everyday Life-Quality of Life Relationship; The Technology Addiction, Youth and Family; The Effects and Results of Technology-Internet Addiction; The Preventive Mechanisms and Ways of Coping with Technology Addiction; Digital Privacy and Cyber Security.

1The student knows the theories and concepts related to addiction and technology addiction
2The student recognizes subtypes of technology addiction such as smartphone addiction, internet addiction and social media addiction and knows the similarities and differences between them.
3The student gains the ability to understand and analyze the effects of addictive technologies such as smartphones and the internet on biological, personal and social life.
4The student becomes aware of various preventive mechanisms and ways of coping with technology addiction.
5The student grasps the importance of digital privacy and cyber security concepts against technology addiction.
