Course Objective	The aim of this course is to provide the students with the knowledge of the main features of microorganisms, immune system, microbiological problems (contamination) and control, sterilization and good production practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
Course Content	Contamination and remedies in the production of pharmaceutical products, the response of the immune system to microorganisms, determination of microbiological problems encountered during the pharmaceutical process in the laboratory, sterilization, disinfection and production of drugs under sterile conditions.
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Can understand the concepts of sterilization and disinfection.
2	Recognize the basic properties of microorganisms.
3	Explains the immune system elements.
4	Solves the problems caused by contamination with microorganisms in pharmaceutical industry.
5	Have sufficient equipment to control the production of microbiologically quality drugs.
6	Understands antimicrobial drugs and resistance mechanisms.
