COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective With this course, it is aimed to provide the student with the competencies related to obtaining radiography and CT images by preparing the patient for radiographic examination and CT scans within the scope of national and international standards of X-ray equipment, digital X-ray equipment, loaded X-ray equipment and Computed tomography (CT) devices used in the Radiology unit.
Course Content Introduction of X-ray devices, Patient Preparation for Radiographic Examination, Head Radiographs, Facial Radiographs, Trunk Radiographs, Upper Extremity Radiographs, Lower Extremity Radiographs, Lung, Heart Radiographs. Introduction of fluoroscopy device, Digestive System Fluoroscopic Imaging, Biliary System Fluoroscopic Imaging, Urogenital System Fluoroscopic Imaging. Introduction of Mammography Device and Mammographic Examinations. Introducing the Dexa Device and Dexa Reviews. Dental Radiographs. Computed tomography (CT) device, Head and neck CT imaging, Vertebra CT imaging, Thorax and abdomen CT imaging, Extremity CT imaging techniques, Advanced CT imaging techniques.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Recognizes imaging devices. Makes preparations for radiographic examination.
2Obtains radiographs of the head, face, lung, thorax, heart, vertebra, abdomen, upper and lower extremities.
3Makes preparations for fluoroscopic examinations, dental and bone mineral densitometry. Acquires images and evaluates image quality.
4Prepares the mammography device and the patient for mammographic examination. Obtains mammography images and evaluates image quality.
5Understands the structure of CT. Acquires images and evaluates image quality.
