COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of the course is to increase the students' knowledge levels by researching topics related to the field of dialysis and scanning the literature, making case presentations and exchanging ideas.
Course Content Acute kidney failure, chronic kidney failure, issues related to system diseases (cardiovascular system, genitourinary system, nervous system, renal osteodystrophy, hemopoietic system, myopathy, gastrointestinal system, immune system), routine examinations in dialysis patients, peritoneal dialysis practice and patient follow-up, home hemodialysis practices and patient follow-up, complications in dialysis patients, occupational safety in dialysis, laws and regulations related to dialysis, psychosocial problems and approach in dialysis patients, medication in dialysis, nutrition in dialysis patients, water purification systems in hemodialysis, kidney transplantation and patient education, intravenous catheter infections, infection and vaccination in hemodialysis units, problems encountered in renal replacement treatments and solutions, dialysis in intensive care patients, care in patients with dementia, dialysis in pregnant and the birth mothers, anemia in dialysis patients and EPO treatment, uremic bone diseases and treatment, emergency intervention applications in dialysis patients, dialysis-related thesis review and reporting.
