COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Associate's Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective It aims to teach basic concepts about health and disease and to provide knowledge and skills about care and treatment in diseases.
Course Content Basic concepts in patient care, basic human requirements, concepts of health and disease, safe hospital environment for patients and medical personnel, measurement and monitoring of vital signs, fever, pulse, respiratory assessment and arterial blood pressure, oxygen administration to the patient, blood sugar measurement, hot and cold applications, blood transfusion application and patient monitoring, decibut patient care, individual hygiene, hospital infections and the use of protective equipment, isolation, asepsis, antisepsis, sterilization and disinfection concepts. Sterile working and drug administration methods, drug preparation, parenteral drug administration, intravenous fluid therapy, providing sleep and rest, urinary system and its applications, patient positions and turning the patient in bed, bed rest, massage and applications, meeting nutritional needs, oral route of the patient and gavage feeding, excretory system and its problems, probes and enemas. Terminal patient care.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Knows the basic concepts of health and disease, understands basic human needs and fulfills the care needs of dialysis patients
2Understands the importance of vital signs fever, pulse, arterial blood pressure and respiration, knows the normal range of vital signs, can make measurements and evaluate the results
3Knows the concepts of asepsis, antisepsis, sterilization, disinfection, hospital infections and isolation
4Performs invasive interventions, administers treatment and monitors patients.
