COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Associate's Degree

Course Objective Development, purpose and methods of programmable controllers used in the industry, study and organization of programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware and software specifications, electronic circuits, internal structure of electronic control systems, electronic circuits and systems. Designing and testing of hardware of PLC systems using input / output modules of modular PLC systems and personal computer (PC) and its related software.
Course Content Introduction, Steps of automation of industry, Relay logic circuits, Ladder diagrams, PLC manufacturing technology, Modular PLC units, Advantages over classical methods, Electrical connection properties, Programming languages, General commands, Program examples, Design, implementation and application of a simple PLC system using a microcontroller based system that works by communicating with a personal computer.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1The structure of programmable logic controllers knows the parts and functions of PLCs
2Know the operation principle of PLC and programming methods of PLC
3Knows logic process initiation and basic logic operation commands, functions, operation and end commands and assignment commands, functions
4Understands programming technique with ladder diagram
5knows the PLC timer commands and applies this command in the programs
6knows the PLC counter commands and applies this command in the programs
