COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective Archaeological site, etc. in the areas where cultural assets are concentrated, it is aimed to conservation the portable and immovable artifacts found in archaeology and Ethnography museums by making copies of them against possible damage and theft risks. In addition, if rare artifacts are exhibited in different cities and/or countries, it is aimed to take the moulds of the original artifacts against the possibility of damage, similarly to take the samples of the inscriptions and make the replicas of them.
Course Content In this context, cultural assets (stone, terracotta, metal figure, etc.) methods of making moulds, moulds and replications from past to present will be explained in practice. Preparation of different materials such as gypsum, clay, Silicon, plasterin, epoxy etc. prepared materials and mold retrieval methods from different artifacts will be explained in practice and the works prepared in the course will be exhibited at the end of the semester.
