Our Department was founded as Biostatistics Department under the Basic Medical Sciences in 1993. Our department gives biostatistics courses before graduation notably in Medicine Faculty and in other Faculties/Colleges related to medicine. In addition, we give postgraduate courses in Medicine Faculty and in the Institute of Medical Sciences.

The aim of the department is to train scientists in the fields of Biostatistics.
