There are 2 programs in the Finance-Banking and Insurance Department of Honaz Vocational School. The first of these is the banking and insurance program. This program started education with 30 students in the 2001/2002 Academic Year. It continues its education life with a total of 353 students in the fall semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The other program is the securities and capital markets program. This program started education with 29 students in the 2006/2007 Academic Year. However, it has stopped accepting students as of the 2016/2017 Academic Year.

The main purpose of this department is to convey the basic concepts of banking and insurance to students and to create the infrastructure for specialization exams. The courses in this section are designed to achieve the secondary objectives given below. These are to have theoretical knowledge about the functioning of Financial Markets and the role played by banking in financial markets; To have knowledge of the insurance industry and basic concepts related to insurance; To have competence in the context of both theoretical and practical examples of information regarding insurance practices; To have advanced theoretical and practical knowledge about the products that banks sell and which constitute their main profit point; It is about having detailed knowledge and application competence about the process of granting loans, which constitutes the main profitability point of banks.
