2987 INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND FINANCE PhD

GENERAL INFORMATION
International Trade and Finance PhDprogram provide students with detailed information about conceptual issues and empirical practices of international trade and finance. As of the 2018-2019 academic year, the education in the program was started.

Objective
The aim of the program is to provide students with detailed information about conceptual issues and empirical practices of international trade and finance. Students will gain the expertise to undertake a senior role for an international company.


Admission Requirements
The student will be admitted to the PhD program according to the PAU Graduate Education Regulation. Accordingly, the following conditions are sought in the application to the doctoral program: They must have a master's degree with thesis and they must have ALES score to be determined by the Senate decision on the condition of not less than 55 points in the type of program applied by ALES. Students whose admission to the doctoral program are not required to have at least 55 points from the international foreign language examinations accepted as equivalent by the central foreign language exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education except for their mother tongue, or from the international foreign language exams which are accepted as equivalent by the ÖSYM are required. 50% of the ALES score, 15% of the undergraduate or graduate academic average, 10% of foreign language grade and 25% of the post-graduate entrance exam score, the success ranking is made. The candidate who has a success score below 70 and does not attend the entrance examination is considered unsuccessful.

Graduation Requirements
The doctoral program can be completed in six semesters at the earliest, at least four semesters should be thesis duration. At the end of the education period, the academic average for graduation must be at least 3.30, the seminar course, the specialization course and the thesis work must be completed successfully.

Career Opportunties
Graduates of the program have the opportunity to make an academic career by taking the title of doctor. In addition, they have the opportunity to be employed in international companies and financial institutions.

Recognition of Prior Learning
A successful student who has completed at least one semester in another institution / department of the university or another post-graduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the post-graduate programs by horizontal transfer. The conditions for acceptance by horizontal transfer are determined by the Senate.
