GENERAL INFORMATION

Objective
1) Attaining ability to follow national and international issues and innovations about field of Turkish Language and Literature. 2) Approaching systematically to the new information in the field of Turkish Language and Literature and gaining advanced skills on the research methods about the field or applying it to a different field. 3) Attaining the ability of making researches on an original topic, comprehending and apllying skills in the field of Turkish Language and Literature. 4) Attaining the ability of the making analysis,synthesis, evaluations about the new and complex ideas in the field of Turkish Language and Literature. 5) Making national and international publications based on research methods; gaining ability of making criticism on the publications done before. 6) Converting acquired skills in the field of Turkish Language and Literature to the professional practise; attaining the ability of ctreating new proficiency areas whenever necessary. 7) Becoming capable of making connections with other different branches of science at the ideas and knowledge level and also gaining the skills for joint studies, whenever necessary.


Admission Requirements
First cycle degree, acceptable score on centralized graduate entrance exam, placement through local oral/written exam and certificate of English proficiency

Graduation Requirements
1) Required to take credits: For bachelors: 42 local credits (315 ECTS); For masters :21 local credits (157.5 ECTS) 2) 3.30 out of 4.0 and no failing grades 3) Students are required to pass a proficiency test to start thesis 4) Required to write a thesis with defence

Career Opportunties
1.Graduates may work as an academic staff in the universities 2.Graduates also have the chance of working on the same fields with bachelors and masters.

Recognition of Prior Learning
A successful student who has completed at least one semester in another institution / department of the university or another post-graduate program of another higher education institution may be admitted to the post-graduate programs by horizontal transfer. The conditions for acceptance by horizontal transfer are determined by the Senate.
