271 COACHING EDUCATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Coaching Education program within the Faculty of Sport Science is one of four programs. In this program, team sports or individual sports trainers (coaches) are brought up at the end of a four-year bachelor's degree specializing in different branches of sports. In the 2004-2005 Academic Year 20 daytime students were taken on into the department. The department gave its first graduates in 2008. Students who graduate from the Coach Training Program can find work at all units under the Directorate General of Youth and Sport (Provincial Directorates of Youth and Sports, Education Department, Federations, etc.) and at the autonomous federation, as coaches or as sports experts at amateur or professional sports clubs, as Sport Scientist and Conditioners or as Match Analyzers. In addition graduates can work as lecturers at School of Sport Sciences and Technology, at Physical Education and Sports Schools and Faculty of Sport Sciences. Since its establishment, it has had a growing number of students and academic staff. As of the 2017-2018 academic year it has had, 160 students in our department, 3 associate professors, 3 assistant professors, 2 lecturers, and 1 research assistant.

Objective
The purpose of the program is to train ethics-conscious team sports or individual sports coaches who are dedicated to protecting the health and safety of athletes, at a high level of performance for multi-disciplinary work, in the branch of scientific and technological developments. During the four year program students strengthen their education in foreign languages.


Admission Requirements
In order to be accepted to the Department of Coaching Education, the candidate must first meet the threshold score determined by the department in the relevant year in the Higher Education Institutions exam, and then be successful in the special talent exam held by the faculty. The criteria for the special talent exam are announced on the web page of the faculty every year.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Department of Coaching Education, students must meet the graduation and diploma requirements specified in Pamukkale University Undergraduate Education Regulations and take at least 240 credits for four years.

Career Opportunties

DebateDepending on the situation, debate is a tool that allows all students, or a specific portion of the class to participate in the lesson. In this method, members of the group discuss a topic by addressing the various points of view and discuss alternative opinions about problem-solving.
DemonstrationIn this method the teacher demonstrates, an experiment, test, in front of the class. And then assists students to do so too. Students learn not only by just by looking and watching, but also by taking part and participating. This method is usually applied when teaching skills.
