210 LABOUR ECONOMICS AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (Evening

GENERAL INFORMATION
Labour Economics and Industrial Relations Program aims to the students to become a qualified expert who can be well-versed in the regulations governing working life and possess the adequate technical knowledge and have necessary psychological, sociological and economic perspectives in order to strengthen the dialogue between workers and employers.

Objective
The aim of the Program is to examine the working life economically, sociologically, psychologically and legally and to train an expert workforce. The Program aims to produce scientific knowledge by providing education and training at international standards, based on contemporary and practical requirements; It undertakes to address the dynamics of working life in various aspects and to contribute to the labour relations literature.


Admission Requirements
Students are required to have a secondary school diploma and sufficient grades from a high education institution i.e. ÖSYM to register in the program.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
Our graduates can be employed in public and private sectors and can benefit from all the other employment opportunities given to the other graduates in the other departments of our faculty. Also our graduates have a higher chance of employment in the Ministry of work and social security, the Turkish labor institution and in labor unions and also in banks, insurance companies, and human resources departments. Graduates can also work as job consultant and labour inspector.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students learn to gain theoretical knowledge to be able to analyze the working lives with social, psychological and legal dimensions and to interrelate with the other branches of science.
2Students learn to gain an advanced level of theoretical knowledge of social policy, labor law, industrial psychology, sociology of work and industry relations.
3Students learn to contribute to the problems of working relationships in a global and societal framework especially in the social policy frame work, occupational health and human resources.
4Students learn to identify the basic problems related to working relationships and develop the ability to model and solve.
5Students learn to interpret unemployment and employment problems with other relevant branches of science; determining stakeholders; and gain analytical thought and perspective with regards to finding solutions and implementations.
6Students learn to analyze the social policy at national and international levels; take part in decision making positions in institutions such as the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, Turkish Employment Agencies (ISKUR), European Union (EU), United Nations (UN), International Labor Organization (ILO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), creating public policies, and establishing inter-political relations.
7Students learn to value the universality of social rights, gain social responsibility and social justice.
8Students gain the ability to research at an undergraduate level, gain a scientific point of view, learn to be able to think analytically and develop solutions based on cases, evidences and researches.
9Students learn to understand the phenomenon of social security, and applications, produce short, middle and long term solutions and make comparative analysis.
10Students learn to implement peace, justice and order in working life, gain theoretical knowledge about individual and collective labor relations laws and contribute to social dialogue.
11Students gain the ability to analyze and interpret the results of data presented in normal times and in times of crisis.
12Students learn to plan both macro and micro level of human resources and implement these plans.
13Students learn to work in a team, and correctly express themselves verbally and in writing.
