206 POLITICAL SCIENCE AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (EvenI

GENERAL INFORMATION
Students whose student numbers end with odd numbers take must courses in the 1st section and those students whose student numbers end with even numbers take these courses in the 2nd section. In the third year, students take 4 must courses and in the forth year students take 3 must courses, and in addition to that, students take elective courses to fulfill their credits. For selective courses there are not sections as separate classes.

Objective
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration aims primarily to educate experts, administrators, and entrepreneurs in three fields; state institutions, private institutions and non-governmental organizations. Our graduates could work in public and private sectors and civil society organizations as experts, managerial staff or personnel. Further aims are to give students ample competence of administration, politics, law, urbanization; to supply the students basic information in these disciplines via economics, finance, and international relations based courses; to foster students in analytical thinking and synthesis of new input.


Admission Requirements
Students are required to gain the needed score at the national university entrance exam and assigned by the central authority.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For the students demanding to be enrolled in the related departments of Pamukkale University via undergradute transfer, rules and regulations of Council of Higher Education are valid. Exemption exams for the joint must courses are held in the beginning of fall semester on a date announced in the academic calendar. Make up exam is not allowed for these examption exams. The students of faculties/ vocational schools/schools that do not offer preparatory class are allowed to take examption exam for the joint must course of the related foreign language. Those students have to apply the related academic unit within the time limit mentioned in the academic calendar.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Recognize, explain and analyze the fundamental concepts of the administrative science, political science, urbanization, sociology and law. Recognize local, national ad international thoughts shaping, affecting, defining, analyzing, questioning those fields, and have the theoretical knowledge and equipment about them.
2Identify national and international politics, law, local and central government, urbanization and environmental problems; comment on them, provide solutions, plan and build up solution process, make the division of labor and manage it.
3Embrace a responsibility for the unit to be represented in public or in private sector and develop projects to solve problems, use initiative and innovative ideas when it is needed. Apply research by the help of statistical information to evaluate problems and develop analysis. Organize administrative mechanisms, which enable the continuity of the institution by creating of crisis scenarios and emergency action plans.
4Admit the existence of different schools of thought which are alternatives to one another in political science, public administration, law and urbanization; compare, criticize and investigate those schools. Embrace an analytical approach for the problems in political, social, administrative legal, financial, urbanization contexts.
5Follow and update technological, legal and other solutions in the field and update the knowledge and the experience by being loyal to lifetime learning process. Fulfill the need of gaining new perspectives and developing new solutions.
6Define and explain the basic concepts as a member of a community and as a citizen of a state, analyze the major social and political issues; evaluate as an active and participatory citizen to avoid the errors caused by not knowing about enough political life; distinguish the current political and social developments which can lead to important changes in their lives
7Follow new theoretical and practical innovations in public administration, law, politics, urbanization and environmental problems in national and international basis, and evaluate them in decision-making process in public and private sector with an integrated, and comparative perspective and; apply the appropriate ones
8Have the level of professional knowledge of foreign languages to follow the international literature and communicate with colleagues in other countries in the related fields. Use the rules of Turkish grammar and spelling appropriately throughout the execution of their training.
9Use the computer technologies and programs confronted at the managerial levels in private and public sector or in academic career; engage in effective and fast communication via modern technology with professional colleagues abroad. Update, evaluate, report and share the information by the help of these technologies.
10Develop themselves in various careers levels of management such as human resources, public relations, financial management and audit at public agencies and institutions, political institutions, private sector and civil society organizations.
11Recognize the state as an institution, government systems, political structures, and political, sociological, administrative, legal, historical, economic, financial aspects on national and international basis, and realize the functioning of the Turkish state system in order to train qualified personnel for the Turkish public bureaucracy, accept the need for professional ethical standards.
12Have adequate information on the functioning and legal regulations of local and central government institutions, private and public sector laws; follow and evaluate new regulations in those areas.
