111 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of Early Childhood Education began offering undergraduate education in 1993 and graduate education in 1998. Educating activities are conducted in a democratic and participatory environment, appropriate for changes and developments in ECE the field, with a dynamic faculty comprised of experts in their fields. Undergraduate and graduate programs are taught in Turkish.

Objective
The program aims to train teachers accountable to Atatürk's Principles and Revolutions, country and nation, moral, questioning, creative thinking and equipped with professional knowledge and skills of teaching with an international perspective.


Admission Requirements
Students must comply with the legal and academic requirements to access the studies in The Sakarya University according to the process established by the ÖSYM (Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Centre) regulations. Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year.

Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete all compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum successfully with no failing grades, including compulsory practical trainings, and have a minimum CGPA requirement as stated in Pamukkale University’s undergraduate program guidance.

Career Opportunties
The graduates of the program might work as preschool teachers in the earlier grades of state and private primary schools, state and private nursery schools and study centers. The graduates might also be able to enroll in graduate programs.

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in post-graduate programs provided that they receive valid grades from ALES and have sufficient knowledge of English.

TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS

LecturingLecturing is one of the methods that come first, where the teacher is in the center. It is a method where the teacher actively describes topics and the students are passive listeners. With this method, lesson proceeds in the form of report, description and explanation.
