745 LABORATORY AND VETERINARY ART

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pamukkale University Acıpayam Vocational School of Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program started training in 2013-2014 academic year. It is subject to 120 ECTS credits first stage degree system in veterinary field in higher education. When the program is successfully completed and program qualifications are provided, the Associate Degree in the field of Laborant and Veterinary Medicine is granted.

Objective
To train innovative students in the field of veterinary services in order to meet the need for trained personnel who is equipped with the laboratory techniques.

Without examination the graduates of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty have the right to migrate 3rd class. In addition, DGS, if they are successful in the graduate program of formal education there are opportunities to continue.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be qualified to use laboratuary equipments
2Having comprehensive knowledge of laboratuary operations rules and implementation of these rules
3Collecting histological, microbiological, parasitological, pathological samples and running required tests
4Implementation of hygiene, animal care and medical services as veterinarian assistant at animal hospitals, private clinics and farms
5To be able to provide required conditions for animal health and wellfare
6To be able to follow animals to prevent any possible epidemic or zoonotic diseases.
7To be able to determine mating period and implement insemination in the charge of a veterinarian
8Taking protective measures about fertility, udder and feet health and informing responsible veterinary on time
9To be able to implement required treatment protocols in the charge of a veterinarian
10To obey professional ethics
TEACHING & LEARNING METHODS

LecturingLecturing is one of the methods that come first, where the teacher is in the center. It is a method where the teacher actively describes topics and the students are passive listeners. With this method, lesson proceeds in the form of report, description and explanation.
DebateDepending on the situation, debate is a tool that allows all students, or a specific portion of the class to participate in the lesson. In this method, members of the group discuss a topic by addressing the various points of view and discuss alternative opinions about problem-solving.
DemonstrationIn this method the teacher demonstrates, an experiment, test, in front of the class. And then assists students to do so too. Students learn not only by just by looking and watching, but also by taking part and participating. This method is usually applied when teaching skills.
