373 OFFICE MANAGEMENT AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

GENERAL INFORMATION
The office management and executive assistance program, informs students about basic economics and business management, and design. Information about the use of basic technology in office automation, office practices, public relations is given.

Objective
This program aims to bring up qualified employees with good characters who are able to develop themselves. The graduates work in office operations and contribute to the administrators’ office activities, in private sector enterprises and in public bodies and institutions.


Admission Requirements
Students who have both a high-school certificate and enough points from a university entrance exam may study in this department.

Graduation Requirements
In addition to the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum, which corresponds to a total of 120 ECTS available in the program, students who successfully complete their compulsory internships and achieve a minimum 2.25 grade point average out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree in Office Management and Executive Assistant.

Working areas: Companies, in both public and private sectors, hospitals, courses, public relations departments of companies, charities, foundations and organizations.

Recognition of Prior Learning
For students who want to transfer from higher education institutions in Turkey to Pamukkale University, the provisions of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" are applied.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In addition to the compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum, which corresponds to a total of 120 ECTS available in the program, students who successfully complete their compulsory internships and achieve a minimum 2.25 grade point average out of 4.00 are awarded an associate degree in Office Management and Executive Assistant.

Access to Further Studies
Students who successfully complete the Office Management and Executive Assistant Program can take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). At the end of the exam, success scores are determined by considering the scores obtained from the exam and the academic grade averages of the candidates. Candidates with sufficient points can transfer to 4-year undergraduate programs, where they can transfer with the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) if the quota is opened in the relevant programs. In addition, graduates of the associate degree program can vertically transfer to open education faculties.

1Students gain the ability to use modern techniques and office instruments related with the assistance of executives.
2Students gain the ability to describe problems about their job and to solve these problems and to improve themselves and other employees by following the changes in science, technology and the occupational area.
3Students gain the ability to improve their qualifications about the execution (leadership, marketing, organizations, managing the crisis, managing the time, etc), to work as a team with the all departments, and to learn about motivational components.
4Students learn about numerical analysis techniques and how to be familiar with business practices, quality, organization, planning, and how to apply the knowledge of cultural issues.
5Students gain knowledge about occupational ethics and responsibility.
6Students gain the ability to communicate and to use the ability of communication within an organization and out of an organization.
7Students gain the ability to follow national and international problems, to be conscious about environmental issues and to be consistent about social relations.
8Students learn to use occupational education in practice.
9Students learn to arrange the activities of a manager such as; the managers travel, appointment, communication and meeting arrangements.
10Students learn to link theory with the practice.
11Students gain a foreign language and knowledge about it.
12Students learn about the main information about computer usage, learn to use internet technologies and office soft wares.
13Students become conscious about Atatürk’s principles, and gain knowledge about Revolution history.
14Students learn how to be initiative, to become self-confidence in their field, to be creative, and to be able to carry out a written and oral presentation.
