2785 PHILOSOPHY PhD

Graduate education in the Department of Philosophy started in the 1995-1996 Academic year with two programs called Systematic Philosophy and Logic and History of Turco-Islamic Thought. Our first philosophy doctorate program was opened in partnership with Adnan Menderes University in the 2010-2011 Academic year. The Council of Higher Education decided to close joint doctorate programs, this doctorate program was closed on 12/09/2019; thus, the joint doctorate program accepted its last students in the 2019-2020 Academic year. The application to open a doctorate program to be carried out by our department was accepted by YÖK on 06/03/2020; this new doctorate program has actually started education since the 2020-2021 Academic year. In our program, high-level philosophy education is given with the competence of a faculty member. Those who have a master’s degree in the Department of Philosophy are accepted to our program. for this reason, accepted its last students in the 2019-2020 Academic year. The application to open a doctorate program by the Department of Philosophy of Pamukkale University was accepted by Turkish Higher Education Council and thus, this new doctorate program has started to accept students since 2020-2021 Academic year.

Objective
The main objective of our doctoral program is to prepare graduate students to do philosophy professionally.
