GENERAL INFORMATION
The History Department started its undergraduate and graduate programs in 1994 and 1995 respectively. The fields under the department are Ancient History, History of the Middle, Early Modern and Modern Ages, Central Asian History, History of Modern Turkey and History of Ottoman Institutions and Civilization. Seven professors, three associate professors, eight assistant professors, seven research assistants and one lecturer serve as full-time faculty members.

Objective
The History Program aims at producing creative historians who have the basics of academic research and ethical rules of an academic endeavour. The program pursues the goal of teaching its students modern research methods for a dissemination of knowledge.
