361 DIALYSIS

GENERAL INFORMATION
Dialysis Program started education in the 2008-2009 academic year, and theoretical and applied courses are being conducted. In the dialysis program, courses such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, patient care principles, pathology, internal diseases and care principles, surgical diseases and care principles, use and maintenance of dialysis machines, nephrology, dialysis are taught and applications are made. Those who complete the dialysis program are given the title of "Dialysis Technician". Dialysis technicians work in dialysis centers in turns or in shifts. Their duties are to apply peritoneal dialysis, to prepare the dialysis machine, to take the patient to dialysis, to care for the patient during dialysis, to remove the patient from the machine at the end of the dialysis period. Dialysis technicians can work in dialysis units of public or private health institutions. Due to the increasing number of dialysis units and the insufficient number of specially trained personnel, employment opportunities are quite good. Dialysis technicians can work in any region with a dialysis center.

Objective
The aim of this program is to train technical personnel who have received adequate training in technical issues, taking hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients to the dialysis machine, patient follow-up and treatment during dialysis, terminating dialysis procedures and providing qualified health care.
