Course Objective The main aim of this course is to teach students the basic information about the research methodology of geography, research methods and techniques.
Course Content In accordance with the purpose of this course, the content is to teach students the basic information about the research methodology of geography, research methods and techniques. In this context, first of all, it is aimed to give basic information and techniques about the stages of a research (subject selection, theoretical framework, literature review, research design, etc.) in scientific research in the field of geography. Afterwards, it aims to develop students' abilities in terms of what quantitative and qualitative methods are most frequently used in scientific research in the field of geography, where they are used and how they should be analyzed and interpreted. At the last stage, the rules of academic writing (citing and quoting, making references, etc.) and ethical principles that should be observed in geography studies are included.
