Course Objective The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge about the nature, historical development, types and uses of proof in mathematics education. With this course, it is aimed that the students have knowledge and skills about the effective use of the idea of proof from pre-school to university graduation. It is aimed to ensure that students can both apply proof and use it in their lessons in their future teaching life, and add the idea of proof to every stage of educational activities with their new experiences about the nature of proof.
Course Content Proof and basic concepts, argumentation and proof, the relationship between mathematical thinking and proof, types of proof, proof in the literature, teaching proof in mathematics curriculum, nonverbal proofs, proof with paper folding.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
