COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Constructing the concepts of number and algebra in primary school mathematics is the aim of this course. The goal is to first construct the concept of number through number systems and sets, representation of numbers, and establishing connections to daily life. For algebraic concepts, the objective is to gain knowledge about algebraic thinking and basic algebraic concepts, and to enhance knowledge and skills regarding the teaching of algebraic concepts. Additionally, students will be encouraged to develop research proposals, and convert their findings into scientific publications related to the teaching of these concepts.
Course Content Number systems, number sets, number representations, algebraic thinking, basic algebraic concepts, and applications of number and algebra concepts in the teaching process.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
11. Students develop ideas about how number and algebra concepts are constructed in primary education.
