Course Objective Hesaplamalı akışkanlar dinamiği ve onun uygulamaları konusunda temel kavram ve yöntemleri öğretmek ve lisansüstü öğrencisine konuyla ilgili kendini geliştirebileceği becerileri kazandırmaktır.
Course Content Basic equations of fluid dynamics; Analytic aspects of partial differential equations; Introduction to finite difference and finite volume discretization; Steady convection-diffusion equation; Unsteady convection-diffusion equation; The incompressible Navier-Stokes equations; Iterative solution methods; Scalar conservation laws; The Euler equations in one space dimension; Numerical solution of the Euler equaitons in general domains; Unified methods for incompressible and compressible flow computations. Review of conservation equations. Special forms of conservation equations. Flow kinematics: Streamlines, circulation, stream and vortex tubes. Ideal flows. Two-dimensional potential flows. Complex functions. Source-sink. Vortex. Complex flows. Flow over a cylinder. Blasius Integral laws. Conformal transformations. Schwarz-Christoffel transformation. Jet and currents. Three-dimensional potential flows. Wave theory. .
