Course Objective The purpose of this course is to provide the basic concepts of biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal; design principles and applied systems besides to transfer relevant knowledge and experiences on the subject matter.
Course Content Forms of nitrogen - Impacts of nitrogen - Sources of nitrogen - Stoichiometry and kinetics of nitrification - Modelling of nitrification process - Design of nitrification - Stoichiometry and kinetics of denitrification - Modelling of denitrification process - Design of denitrification - Modelling approach for nitrification-denitrification systems - Process configurations - Design of single sludge biological nutrient removal systems
