Course Objective To provide up-to-date information on providing care for the child in need of care in the intensive care unit with evidence-based practices, managing pain, maintaining skin integrity, and providing care to the family by managing this process together with the family, managing the grieving process and providing spiritual care.
Course Content Historical development and qualifications of pediatric intensive care nursing, Determining the different aspects of the pediatric intensive care unit, structuring the pediatric intensive care unit, Teamwork and Cooperation in pediatric intensive care, Infection control in the pediatric intensive care unit, Evaluation of the critically ill child,Systems Approach, Monitoring and mechanical ventilation of the child in the intensive care unit, Pain and sedation management in intensive care, Protection of the child in the intensive care unit, Appropriate child-centered and family-centered care, Grief and spiritual care in pediatric intensive care, Supporting the discharged child and family
