COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To inform extensive theoretical knowledge of gynecologic cancer nursing course, being able to give care in this context and teaching the principles of primary health care approach which is necessary, regarding the types of gynecologic cancer and determine physical, psycho-social specific health problems for women who are gynecologic cancer, develop a plan for analyzing the problems of health problems for women who are gynecologic cancer, develop a plan for analyzing the problems of health care and aims to give knowledge and skills in the light of new developments.
Course Content The aim of this course is to gain knowledge and skills about the current and evidence based approaches in female reproductive organ tumors, the assessment of physical and psychosocial needs of women and their families, their care and rehabilitation in a holistic approach, clinical guidelines for prevention and early diagnosis of gynecologic cancers and developing health education programs.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To be able to define the roles and responsibility of gynecologic cancer nurse
2To be able to define nursing practices related to diagnosis, care, treatment, end of life care of gynecologic cancer patients and their families.
3To be able to plan, implementation, and evaluate the results of Nursing care for symptoms that can be seen in patients with gynecological cancer
4To be able to follow the innovations related to symptom management and evidence-based scientific developments in patients with gynecological cancer and to discuss in the light of new developments and and to transfer these developments to practice
