COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective This lesson intends to give theoretical information about birth and disease nursing and in this contend to help the students to obtain nursing ability and to teach the students necessary principles which will help them to correct the situations effecting the health negatively. This lesson also aims the students to be able to grasp the importance of the review about monitoring the development of knowledge about birth and nursing and research.
Course Content Obstetric Knowledge and Nursing Approaches,Physical and Psycologic Changes of Pregnancy,Antenatal Care During Pregnancy,Risk Situations in Pregnancy, Created Risk Conditions at Pregnancy , Assessment of Fetal Well-Being,Processes and Stages of Labor and Birth and Intrapartal NUrsing Assessment ,Mid-term Exam,Pathological Births and Risk at Labor, Properties of Postpartum Period and Nursing Assessment, Risk Situations in Postparum Period,Normal

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1When maternal-fetal-newborn health deviate from normal conditions, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation to interpret in terms of basic information about nursing at prenatal, natal and postnatal periods
2Be able to prevention of pregnancy complications, planning of necessary initiatives for early diagnosis and treatment and be able to cooperate with the prenatal care team in practice
3Be able to meet the needs regarding to maternal health education in the early postpartum period
4The solution of health problems which deviates from normal health in the perinatal period to be able to formulated nursing care and synthesize the information which gained before
5To be able to evaluate the roles and responsibilities of nurse, when healt deviates from normal conditions in the perinatal period to develop and protect of health
6To be able to discuss the importance of cultural factors and traditional practices affecting care
7To be able to maintenance planning, training, consulting devoted to ımprove the health of mother and newborn at birth, pregnancy and postpartum period
