Course Objective To give basic knowledge about anatomical, physiological and pathophysiological aspects of sympathetic part of autonomic nervous system; to examine the drugs that affect this system from the molecule to the clinic (physiological and pharmacological effects, mechanisms of action, their use in treatment, side and toxic effects, contraindications, drug-drug and drug-nutrient drug-disease interactions); discuss drug candidates to be developed for the system.
Course Content Introduction to autonomic nervous system pharmacology, adrenoceptor agonists and sympathomimetic drugs, adrenoceptor agonists and sympathomimetic drugs, adrenoceptor antagonist drugs, clinical uses and clinical pharmacology of sympathetic system drugs.
