COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Compulsory
Course Objective The aim of the lecture to learn the place of genetics in medicine, to understand its significance both for the conceptual basis of medicine and for clinical practice, To learn clasifications and heredity patterns of genetic disorders, To be able to compare mendelian and non-mendelian inheritance. .
Course Content Patterns of inheritance could be classified according to recessive or dominant character or could depend on gene which is located either on otosomal chromosoms or on sex chromosoms. Mendelian genetics and extensions of Mendelian genetics will be covered during the lecture. .
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Defines and discuss the patterns of inheritance for dominant and recessive, autosomal and X-linked traits.
2Defines and discusses the principles of multifactorial inheritance.
3Explains the concepts and clinical importance of genetic imprinting and uniparental disomy.
4Reveals the clinical manifestations of the common chromosomal anomalies.
