COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Doctorate Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective To introduce the history of Siberia more closely.
Course Content Although it cannot be followed by first hand sources until the 16th century, Siberian history is one of the main quarries in terms of Turkish history and culture. The archaeological excavations of the Russians during the USSR period show that the historical culture here is equivalent to the culture of the Turks. The most extensive evaluations made on Siberia were made by the Russians. Russian researchers have given extensive knowledge about the tribes that are limited to thousands. There is not much detail about Turkish tribes, Shor, Teleut, Hakas, Yakut and Tuva. Local and subsequent distinction was not taken into account. Siberian History of J. Forsyth is one of the most competent studies in this field. The limited work of Radloff and Katanov on this issue is of vital importance and is shown as a resource all over the world. Again, there is a need to know the first period in order to understand the Russian invasion that started in the 16th century and to examine Siberia in depth.
